I was in Guard Company after returning from Vietnam in May of 1970, and marched in the 70, 71, and part of 72 parade season. I have some photos and some historical items that might be of interest.

This is a photo taken in April of 1972, when I received a Meritorious Mast.
From the left, 1st Sgt. Dallas Ricker, me, Lt. Col. Cheatham, and Company Commander, Capt. James Jones (later Commandant James Jones). I reunited with both the 1st Sgt. and General Jones at the 2003 special reunion. I brought the photo and asked both to sign it for me, which they did.

This is my platoon (2nd, I think) on photo day in 1971. Major Coolican was Company Commander, and Capt. Munson was platoon commander.

For some reason that I don't recall, I got to travel with the Silent Drill Team to Ft. Henry in Canada in 1971. I think I may have had to fill in for someone, not sure, but I am in the photos taken during the afternoon practice session. The platoon commander that year was Captain Peter Pace (later General Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff). He can be seen in the first photo. I'm in the 1st squad, front row, on the left.

This photo is the presentation of two Marine swords, one enlisted, one officer, to the Ft. Henry unit.

The above two photos are of Sgt. John Marley doing the inspections during the evening performance.
