Historical Events of the 1970's
On 17 March 1978, as part of a reorganization at the Marine Barracks, 8th & I Streets, Washington, DC, and in accordance with CMC letter MPC-53-bpm 5320, the Ceremonial Guard Company was redesignated Company A and the Marine Corps Institute Company was redesignated Company B. Refer to page 8 of the Marine Barracks, 8th & I Command Chronology, 1 January 1978 - 30 June 1978. 1973 Funeral procession for President Lyndon B. Johnson. At front left is Sgt. Juan Escobar, on the other side is L/Cpl. McCall. 1972 Funeral of FBI Drector J. Edgar Hoover in the U.S. Capitol rotunda. With his back to the camera is Sgt. Here is a picture of the funeral of "Lt. General Chesty Puller." I am the Marine Sgt.on the right front on the left front is Sgt. Larry Sholdis. The other is a letter which I received from Mrs. Puller. It has a small spot on the right top because I laminated the letter along with the envelope.
